The Windcap is aerodynamically designed to swivel to accommodate changes in wind direction and create a vacuum effect that pulls smoke up and out of the chimney. Because the suction caused by the Windcap is so constant, build-up of creosote on the walls of the chimney is reduced. This results in having a cleaner, safer and more functional chimney.
